Beijing (Gasgoo)-  Chery Automobile, in collaboration with Tsinghua University's Intelligent Transportation Laboratory, recently revealed a patent for a modular flying car concept. Unlike traditional integrated flying cars, this innovative three-body composite wing design introduces a modular separation approach, featuring a pioneering three-body docking mechanism. Photo credit: Chery The flying car consists of three modules: a flight module (including propellers and wings), a cockpit module, and a driving module.The flight module and cockpit can combine to form an aircraft, while the driving module and cockpit form a car, allowing for flexible, "Lego-like" reassembly. This modular design enables a easy switch between flying and driving modes based on real-time needs. The flight module can be attached for takeoff, and upon landing, it automatically disconnects from the driving module, which can be reattached for driving use.
