An antelope can outrun a human over a short distance . But when the antelope stops for a rest, the human keeps following. Forcing the antelope to run for its life again, and again, and again. Until eventually it dies of exhaustion. Even a modern couch potato can run a marathon, so imagine pre-historic humans. Maybe the animal doesn’t run forever. Maybe instead it only runs until it can find somewhere to hide. But where can an animal hide from a human? We can walk, climb, and swim. Maybe it will hide underground, but then ………………………………
